Bohemian Like You

I first heard this song on a mix CD that was given to me by my first high school crush. I later heard it in one of my favorite movies, Igby Goes Down. Wherever you heard it, I bet it was stuck in your head for days. This is my cover of Bohemian Like You, originally by the Dandy Warhols.

Call Me Maybe

In which I unashamedly cover one of the most catchy pop songs in recent memory. Yeah, I went there.

This is Call Me Maybe, originally by British Columbia’s own Carly Rae Jepsen.

This is a song called Leaves in the River by a band called Sea Wolf. It’s about a boy and a girl, and I recorded a cover of it. I hope you like it.

Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space

I recorded this cover a long time ago for some girl that doesn’t talk to me any more. It’s a nice song and it reminds me of one of my favorite movies. It’s called Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space.

Miss Sweeney

Alright! This is a cover of Weezer’s best song since Pinkerton. It’s a fun one, with a little higher margin for error due to Rivers’ sing-talky verses that are hard to replicate. I also toyed with putting drums in this, but I have no good drum machine and they sounded like garbage, so forgive me if it sounds a little thin. Either way, this is Miss Sweeney.

One Great City!

This is hopefully the first of many in the “Cover of the Week” series–I plan on covering a new song every Monday or so and sharing the results here. Feel free to make suggestions in the comments below or using the contact form above!

One Great City by the Weakerthans has the unfortunate distinction of leading off what will hopefully be a long line of bad covers. I love this song, but I do not necessarily share all of its sentiments regarding my home town. Either way, enjoy.
